30CrMnSi钢柱窝淬火过程断裂分析

Fracture analysis of 30CrMnSi steel column socket during quenching

摘要: 采用断口形貌分析、显微组织观察、成分分析及硬度测试方法,对淬火断裂30CrMnSi钢柱窝的断裂原因进行了分析。结果表明,淬火过程中裂纹源区奥氏体未能充分转变为马氏体,存在铁素体组织,当淬火应力过大时,在铁素体区域容易出现开裂,且断口处伴随Si元素的异常富集及Fe-B和Fe-C金属间化合物生成,二者增加了晶界脆性,使材料韧性下降,从而导致柱窝淬火开裂。

Abstract: Fracture causes of the quenched and fractured 30CrMnSi steel column socket were analyzed by using fracture morphology analysis, microstructure observation, composition analysis, and hardness testing. The results show that during the quenching process, the austenite in the crack initiation zone fails to fully transform into martensite, and ferrite structure exists. When the quenching stress is too high, cracking is likely to occur in the ferrite area. Moreover, the fracture surface is accompanied by the abnormal enrichment of Si element and the formation of intermetallic compounds of Fe-B and Fe-C. Both of these factors increase the brittleness of the grain boundaries and reduce the toughness of the material, thus leading to cracking during quenching of the column socket.
